paperpiece: Paper Piecing with Ruth Dokken Saturday June 12th
Here is the class list:
Items needed: Sewing machine, piecing thread, small scissors. Seam ripper, fine pins, wonder clips. Fabric Glue pen (if you have one) Cutting mat (11” x 11” to 12 x 18” is bet) Rotary cutter (28mm works best but 45mm is ok)
Fabric Requirements: Two contrasting fabrics at a minimum such as one light and one dark. Determine which fabric to use for the center spikes and cut based upon that as follows:
Option One (first class only)
Spikes: 4 – 7”x 7” squares; 2- 16” x 20” rectangles
80 inches of binding if making a square block, 100 inches for a rectangle
Contrasting fabric: 4- 6” x 9 ½ “ rectangles
Option Two (Multi class project only )
Spikes: 4- 7x7” squares; 4 – 10” x 16” rectangles; 4 – 4” x 10 ½ “ rectangles; 4 – 4 ½ “ x 11” rectangles
Contrasting fabric: 4 – 9” x 16” rectangles; 4 – 4 ½ “ x 14” rectangles
108 inches of binding if making a square block, 132 inches for a rectangle.
