Happy September!

Where did the summer go! This was a busy summer.  August brought us the Quilt Minnesota Shop Hop! What fun to visit with many of you during the Hop!  We all enjoy meeting/remeeting and hearing where you are from! We especially love seeing your projects and glean many ideas from you. ( I hope you don’t mind us asking what you are working on, we genuinely are interested and it motivates us to do more projects)

For those of you that completed our region for Quilt MN, We have some fat quarter bundles available for purchase and we have added yardage to use with the fat quarters if you would like to add a border or make it bigger.  

Sadly, we had to say Goodbye to longtime resident and friend Lorraine Warden.  She and her husband left the Blackduck area after 30+ years here as Educator and Pastor. They will be missed by many, but we told Lorraine, she may be gone, but we can reach her by phone!  We had a going away party for her and she left with many friendship blocks to create a memory quilt of her quilting friends.  

Charm Club: 

Charm Club meets  the second Tuesday of Each month.  September 12th is our next meeting.  We drew number 2 for the UFO club members. This is due in September.  We told you in July that we wouldn’t be meeting, but we did! We pre-recorded and put it up via YouTube. Some people had a hard time understanding the recording, best to open up youtube and watch in full screen.  Mary (our Techy person) said we should do that more often.  It won’t be this month, but we will be trying out some new options for our online club. As always, we will meet in the store at 6pm as well as online at 4pm.  We drew for the 6 month basket in July and Karen Bernard won the basket (your name gets put in the basket when you comment on something online).  If you watch us online, you can get 20% off one time purchase the week of the club. Code is told during the FB Live.  See new fabrics; We will have a free project for the month.  Check us out on Facebook. Come and join the fun.

2024 Calendar:  Have you thought about your calendar for the upcoming year.  Kona is offering a calendar this year with free patterns.  It could be a block of the month or just a fun quilt with a block pattern you like each month. (Let Clare know if you want to do a once a month get together to make the block)  It looks like a fun activity.  Check out the pictures of the block of the month options.(on point or straight)  These calendars sell for $24. You will find a new hue every single day. Features 12 FREE patterns from the Robert Kaufman website.

National Sew a Jelly Roll Day is Sept 16th.

We will have  all our Jelly Rolls and precuts on Sale in the store on Saturday Sept 16th.  We will have some free patterns from Moda available with purchase of a jelly roll.  Great time to sew a Jelly roll and see how we roll….

Virtual Cuddle Fitted Sheet Workshop on September 20th

Create a fitted bed sheet for crib size to King size with Jackie our Shannon Ambassador.  Use the 90 wide cuddle 3 to make a fitted bed sheet for your bed, or fun digital prints for baby or kids bed.  All on Zoom. Cost $10.  If you want to come to the shop and do the class, Let Clare Know!

Cuddle Stuffy Class (or cotton Fabric) with Karen Bernard on Oct 14th

10 am - 3pm

Using any Funky Friends pattern (available at Anderson Fabrics) Karen will help you learn techniques to create a stuffed animal out of cuddle fabric (minky), or cotton fabrics.  (please have pattern cut out prior to class)

For first time stuffed animal sewers,  please use teddy bear or bunny pattern from Funky Friends.

Outlet Things:  We have some foam again, but this will be the end.  We have 1 ½” thick sheets 22” x 72” long and 16” x 18” pads.  

We have bundles of nylon thread spools for 5 for $5 or $1 each.  These are all in the basement. 

The basement drapery remnant bolts are $3, $5, $10 and $15.   Upstairs bolts are $4.50/yd or $10/yd.  Lots to choose from.
