What a great fall we have been having.  We know winter is around the corner, and with daylight savings time just happening this brings up our change in hours for the winter months.  We will spring back to hour regular hours when daylight savings time approaches in the spring. Our New Hours will be:  M-F 9-4, Sat 10-3. But as always, if you know you are coming and need us to stay later just call ahead and let us know! Club night will stay the same, so THAT Tuesday we won’t close early.  

Quilting Deadline for Christmas: We do our best to get your quilts quilted for you in a timely fashion.  As Christmas approaches, we know many like to give those at Christmas. If you have a quilt you would like done by Christmas, Mary would like those to be in by Nov. 22.  We will make sure you have it back in time to gift it for Christmas.  You can fill out our form on our website and bring that in, you can also mail it in. Our mailing address is at the end of the newsletter. If you plan to mail your quilt, please give us a call and let us know, then we can be watching for the package and let you know when it arrives.

• When starting a new project, take time to fill 3-4 bobbins, you will save time later.

• To organize patchwork sets, or blocks, try layering them between paper plates. Important instructions can be written on the plates, and they can be stacked together to keep your project neat, organized and compact.

• If you constantly lose your scissor when sewing at your machine, following manufacturer's instructions, attach a 3M hook to the side of your machine or adjacent wall and hang a scissor on that or both.

• As you begin machine sewing, grasp your top thread and bobbin thread and pull them gently as your fabric starts to feed under the presser foot.  This will enable the fabric to feed smoothly and avoid thread snarls.

Charm Club: 

Charm Club meets  the second Tuesday of Each month. November 12th is our next meeting.   If you watch us online, you can get 20% off one time purchase the week of the club. Make a Stuffed teddy bear out of scraps, clothing, or cuddle.  We will use a Funky Friends pattern,  November 23 rd. $30  

All day saturday.

Beginning Quilting Class:  We have had some interest in having a beginning quilting class.  We feel a class like this is not a one day class, but a progression of classes. Clare will work with you for 6 sessions on basic quilting terminology, picking out fabrics,  block construction, putting together blocks, basic quilting and binding. Options are to make a sampler Quilt, or table runner with three blocks.  $20 per session.  All sessions are recommended.  Starting in January.  Please express your interest and let us know what days work best for this class.

2025 Block of the Month: 

Charlotte will be teaching next year's BOM. It is called Pulsar from Studio 180 designs.

  This quilt is designed to use 2 tools plus the Quilter’s Magic Wand from Studio 180 Design. The tools needed are:  Squared Squared and Star 60. The Studio 180 rulers can make some amazing quilts, this will help you learn to use these rulers.

The quilt is designed for 11 fabrics.  Our fabrics are batiks from Island Batiks.  Cost of the BOM will be $30/per month (for 12 months).

The fabric should be here in December. More info will be online soon.

Did Someone Say a Retreat? 

A few people were interested in a retreat, so we’ve been looking for a place.  And we found one.  We are going to host a retreat in Staples MN at “The Landmark Inn”.  It is a renovated former church that sleeps 15 people.  We have reserved the dates of March 19-23.  A Wednesday -Sunday.  It looks like there are 6 rooms for sleeping, the great room is the old sanctuary, where we will sew. Two tables are provided for each person and additional lighting.  There is a full kitchen, people could food share, cater it in or go out. The rates are: Wed.- Sun. is $200.  You may choose your Bed, (1 to a bed)  The option is on our website.  You will Pay Landmark Inn directly for the retreat, but you need to sign up on our web page to select your room.
