Welcome to September!
Here we go again… We just got asked to work into September. Our current owners are under contract with a buyer and we will remain open until that transfer of title. We continue to work towards keeping the store open and available to our customers!
We’ve updated our calendar for our newsletter people, this is tentative, but what we hope to offer as hours of operation. The highlighted dates are tentative. We don’t mind you calling to check our hours. We will continue to be closed on Mondays. But are trying to find a few Saturday’s for you as well.
We had Jean Hopko to teach a few classes in August. Check those out below.
We appreciate everyone’s concern for the store. We, the employees, are dedicated to keeping the store in the community and the region.
We still have Outlet fabrics: Upstairs outlet (drapery) fabric is $1 a yard and in the basement the drapery fabric is by the bolt and it is 75% off. Come and clean us out!
Charm Club:
Charm Club will meet on September 9th. If interested in shopping, we share a code for you to get 20% off your one time purchase the week of the club. Code is told during the FB Live. We are working on our free project for the month. Check us out on Facebook. “Anderson Fabrics Outlet and Quilt Shop”. Come and join the fun.
For those coming to the shop for club at 6PM; we are doing a Christmas Green Fat quarter drawing this month. Bring a fat quarter in the christmas green fat quarter and put your name in the pot, one lucky winner will get them all. Watch our Facebook page for updates! This is our daily way to let you know of happenings in the store. Our facebook page “Anderson fabrics Outlet and Quilt Shop”.
Jean’s classes last month are below, we only have one picture of each class, but it gives you a great look at the class.

I’ve put this in the newsletter before, but many haven’t checked it out. I do believe it is worth your time:

The website is Quiltnotes.com (https://quiltnotes.com/index.php) It is authored by Carol Thelen. She also has a website called the Quilt calculator. https://thequiltcalculator.blogspot.com/p/home.html I use both at the shop I manage in Blackuck MN (Anderson Fabrics and Quilt shop)
When you go to the webpage the home page has a youtube video that shows you how to use her site. (she has lots of pop up ads, just to warn you)
I recommend watching her youtube video.
I like to go to her blocks tab: She has several utility blocks on this site. You can tell the computer how many of these utility blocks you'd like to make and the finished size and it will compute the amount of fabric you need to make that many blocks.
If you don't know how to make the block, often she has a youtube video on the left that you can watch that will show you how to construct the block. If you scroll further down that page she has several one block quilts with pictures of how you can make them. (great for scrap busting)
On the Calculator tab she has several quilt calculators: straight, on point, panel. yardage only, grid. worth checking out.
On the Blockheads tab: Moda has asked designers to create a block for a free collaborative, block of the week quilt along. They have done this six times. A current one is going on now. You can join their facebook group, but if you don't have facebook you can find them all on this tab starting in 2017.
If you have an accuquilt cutter: she has a tab to help you use your dies to make blocks.
My favorite tab is the blocks tab, I think it is a site worth looking at. I hope you can find some uses for it.
We have a kit from Moda’s “All things above” line of fabric. One customer shared a picture of how hers turned out before we kitted them.
New Kits: Welcome Winter Alpine Valley Kit Snow Crew Quilt top 52 x 65”

This Saturday (of Labor Day weekend) you have an opportunity to view an outdoor quilt show.
Charlotte and Clare went to this Quilt Show last year, it was wonderful. If you need something to do, we recommend you consider going to this quilt show. You won’t regret it. 3552 8th Ave NW Hackensack
