If you watched us online on Tuesday’s Charm Club meeting we announced our new owner. Mary Larsen from Blackduck is our new owner.

Mary has worked for Anderson Fabrics Workroom and Quilt Shop since 1991. She started longarming at the Quilt shop in 2012. Mary plans to continue longarming at the shop and running the shop. Our staff will stay pretty much the same as last year. We are accepting quilts for longarming!

Our name will remain as “Anderson Fabrics Quilt Shop” With 40+ years in the Blackduck area, we feel the name is a mainstay to our community and we would like to honor the Anderson family that started the business in this community and put Blackduck on the map.

We also would like to thank “the shade store” for their support for the last three years and the opportunity to stay open during this transition period. And to the new owners of the workroom facility, they have been great to work with and are giving us a great opportunity to keep our store open and we believe they will do the best for our community as well.

We hope that our shop will be your first stop when looking for your quilting needs, and we will continue to have decorator fabrics until they are gone. We have fabric in our back room for $1 a yard and new decorator fabric at $10 a yard. Some are velvets, wools and drapery fabrics with color. It may take us a while to get in all out onto our floor, but we will be working diligently to get it out for you.

Charm Club:

Charm Club will meet on November 11th. If interested in shopping, we share a code for you to get 20% off your one time purchase the week of the club. Code is told during the FB Live. We are working on our free project for the month. Check us out on Facebook. “Anderson Fabrics Outlet and Quilt Shop”. Come and join the fun.

For those coming to the shop for club at 6PM; we are doing a Brown Fat quarter drawing this month. Bring a fat quarter in the christmas green fat quarter and put your name in the pot, one lucky winner will get them all. Watch our Facebook page for updates! This is our daily way to let you know of happenings in the store. We will be transitioning from our old facebook page “Anderson fabrics Outlet and Quilt Shop” to just “Anderson Fabrics Quilt Shop”. Our next live will probably still be on the old page as facebook wants you to be a user for 60 days before you can use the “live” option.

We shared a 14” Scrappy Woven block as our project for October. We decided that we would do an exchange in December. The requirements are that you use a white on white with scrap fabric in your block. Make as many as you would like and for each block you can put your name into the basket to win the whole lot of the blocks. If we get a lot of participants we may separate the blocks to have multiple winners. Here is a picture of our four blocks together to see how it might look with multiple blocks. You can find the pattern as a free download in our Club patterns section.

Open Sew: We have consistently had open sew in our classroom area on the last Saturday of the month. We are going to try having open sew on the last Friday/Saturday of the month. We would like people to notify us in advance if they plan to attend as space is limited. This will allow someone to leave their machine overnight and have more time to sew on their projects.

Also, on “Live” one of Mary’s friends, Zorranna, shared a children’s book she wrote. We will have those books in our store to sell soon.
