A Note From the Shop

We are so excited for our GRAND OPENING!  We have lots of prizes and plan to do daily drawings. Winners will be posted on FACEBOOK and called if their name is drawn.

Block Exchange - We plan to repeat the block exchange BUT this time people are asked to donate a block with three patriotic colors/fabrics and we will put them together to donate to the veteran’s home in Bemidji. Honey’s name was drawn for the set of blocks in March.  We will ask blocks to be brought to the May meeting.  Anyone can participate. Look for the pattern at the end of the newsletter.

Star Square to Share

Make half square triangles (hst) using your favorite method.  To Make a 12 inch block you will need each unfinished hst to be 3 ½” unfinished.

Use the pattern on the side to make 3 color, 

  For Two color: 

Cutting: cut (8) 3 ?” squares of each color

Mark the back of your white squares according to the picture below: 

For Three color: Cutting: Cut (8) 3 ?” of background and (4) of each color.

With the right sides together sew on these lines (¼” from center) Cut between the seams and press towards the darker color. Lay out according to the diagram and sew rows across.  The first row, press the seams to the right, then alternate additional seams. Sew the rows together, press these seams open.  Enjoy!
