A Note From the Shop

Parades, Holiday’s, Family, School Starting… 

What a summer it has been!  Hopefully yours was full! We’ve been busy at the shop, two parades this summer, one in Bemidji and one in Blackduck.  What fun it is when you are walking in the parade and people call out your name or tell us “We are glad you are there!”  We usually respond with “So are we!”  It's hard to the last summer holiday is upon us soon and school is starting.  Shelly and Clare became grandparents again this summer.  Family reunions have been happening.  Summer busy-ness is always fun! Hoping yours was a great summer and now looking to enjoy fall colors and fall weather.  

What’s been going on at the quilt shop as far as CLASSES? 

We have offered two machine quilting classes, one in June, one in July and now one in August on Wednesday the 26th .  If you want to learn how to quilt your own projects, this can get you started. You will have this class with Clare. 

End to  End Table runner.  Charlotte will be teaching this class.  This is a beginner class.  Use a charm pack and a coordinating fabric for the border and create a lovely runner for your table.  This class is Monday, August 31st.  

Featherweight Club:  we will start a club for people who have Featherweight Singer Sewing machines.  We would like to meet on the first Tuesday of the month at about 1pm.  We have asked Jean Hopko to host this Club as she is the most prolific person we know who loves sewing machines (you might have to ask her how many sewing machines she owns, most of them are antiques). The intent is to have a project to work on for the afternoon.  September 1st

Stand and Stow Class: Wednesday, Sept 23rd 

Create a bag using the Stand and Stow pattern from Atkinson Designs.  There are three sizes available in the pattern.We like to make the medium sized bag.  Charlotte will work with you while you make your bag.  You are going to want to make more by the time you are done. Pattern and supplies not included with class.  10% off supplies bought for class. The class will be Wednesday, September 23rd. 

It’s not too early to think about Christmas.  We have Layaway options for our Cricut machines and NECCHI sewing machines.  We have someone to service these machines too, Tim Kuhlman was maintenance at the work room and serviced the Juki machines.  He is accepting machines for cleaning and repair at a charge of $60/hr.

Set up, spread out, and enjoy some uninterrupted stitching time!
